“Through Their Eyes”
My eyes are filled with tears! A human heart heavy! Yet my spirit rejoices with heaven today as the gates were opened to receive Sammy Gumbe!
A true friend, someone who has understood more than most this journey of faith here in Mozambique! Sammy and Christine Gumbe arrived in Mozambique in 2001, simply, called! Simply, walking in faith! Over the last 10 years God has down mighty things with their ministry Restoration Mission International. We have laughed together, cried together, grieved the loss of our son in Jesus Christ, Nelson. We traveled to Oklahoma and marveled at how easy life is in the USA (Drive through banks, ATM’s and fast food @ Sonic! We have toiled and ministered to the heartbroken, lost and hurting! Spreading the love of Jesus Christ! Sammy was a mighty man, called home!
Earlier this year Sammy began to not feel well, suffering headaches and various other symptoms! After many, many Doctors, clinics and hospitals he was diagnosed with an aggressive form of Lymphoma cancer.
In 2006 I lost one of my boys, Nelson. Rescued, Redeemed, Forgiven, Called of God, passionately dedicated to sharing Christ with others, just like Sammy. Nelson gave his life one beautiful day to say a little girl drowning. He was lost at sea; but forever found!
There is song by Jason Upton that says it all! Sometimes we don’t why God calls our loved ones home so early; but God passionately loves us, we are His Beloved and He calls us home. I would like to dedicated this song to Sammy and Nelson! Please take a moment to listen!

I was dreaming of the Holy City, I was wearing my wings, and I looked up and saw a door way to heaven and I heard you call to me!
You said, “Come up here, come up now. My beloved, My beloved! You said, Come up here, Come up now, my beloved! My beloved! and I said, I want to fly, oh Lord! Like an eagle in the sky, I want to fly, oh Lord through that doorway in the sky! Here I come Oh Lord, here I come Oh Lord.
I am sure glad for His grace that holds me, there are days when I seem to barely grasp a hold of this calling that God has place on my life. Yet grace is always there pulling me close, holding on to me! Can you hear God’s holy cry from the heart heaven? Lay it all down, Lay it all down for the heart of Heaven! Let us not live our lives for earthly treasures; but dedicated to Eternity!
Without a heart of fire we will never fly! Is your calling dormit, hidden? Let us take up the call of those who have gone before us! Let us passionately wait at Heaven’s Gates!
Can you hear God’s holy cry from the heart of Heaven? Lay it all down for the heart of Heaven!
Can you hear the voice of Jesus crying out?” “My Beloved has come home!” Sammy, Nelson, we eagerly await the day when we can walk through Heaven’s doors to be join you, worshipping at Jesus feet!
Much love to you from “Through Their Eyes in Mozambique-Jenn
Lay it all down!
